The 13 Broadswords
This is a short but very enjoyable and majestic looking routine to perform. Originally Chen broadsword routine had only 13 movements, hence was called “the thirteen broadswords”. The eighteenth generation of the Chen family added another ten movements to it so becoming the most popular Taiji single broadsword routine in Chen village.
This routine now has 23 kinds of movements i.e. blocking, scooping, slicing, titling and others combining hardness and softness, quickness and slowness, co-ordination and relaxation.
